Every Ancient gate route in the design document, as a map you can explore. Pick a system to see where its gates lead, who uses them, and the exact line of the document that says so. The document describes the network before and after the Codex awakens, including material written for developments beyond the game’s starting state. Switch on the comparison to check each system against what came later, in order of distance from the design: in-game text from 2002–04 (marked shipped or draft), a player guide to the live game from April 2004, a legacy server topology file from 2004–06 and, for a few places, an October 2026 snapshot of the enbmaps.de map.
Each faction’s path as the document lists it, one gate jump per line. Several paths branch, so a system can appear more than once. Dashed stops stay dormant until the Codex awakens. Select a stop to find it on the map.

The galaxy as the legacy server’s universe.xml records it: 16 systems, 56 sectors, 23 gate links between systems. The file was assembled after the live game, in November 2004, and updated in 2006, so it is a server reconstruction, not EA’s own data. Systems ringed in blue also appear in the design document. Heavier lines are the three Ancient gates the April 2004 guide names; the file itself does not say which gates are Ancient. Select a system to list its sectors and gates.
These appear on the current enbmaps.de galaxy map but in neither the April 2004 guide nor the server file. Each one traces back to Albino Eatpod’s 2001 drafts. Appearing on the map does not by itself confirm a place is playable today.
